Shahdag closes the winter season having increased its revenues
Shahdag Mountain Resort, located in Azerbaijan and operated by PGI, has closed the 2017-2018 ski season with a 50% increase in revenues compared to the previous season, increasing the number of local and foreign tourist as well.
Over 130,000 tourists visited Shahdag in its sixth winter season, which represents a 40% increase regarding the 2016-2017 season. Likewise, the ski resort has gained an increase on its ski lesson and winter activities hours.
These successes have been possible thanks to the mountain operation team’s effort and an adequate management of the ski school and activities, offered in collaboration between PGI Management and local professionals. Since the beginning of the ski station operation, PGI has formed a team with over 500 Shahdag employees.
Some of the accomplishments of the mountain resort have been the increase in incomes within the hotels, and improving the tourist experience. Shahdag has bet in service improvements and the excellence of their hotels and restaurants. Shahdag has reached very good results in customer satisfaction on Booking.com, with a current qualification of 9.2 points.
Regarding events, Shahdag has hosted relevant competitions such as the Red Bull Shak Carpet, music festivals, local celebrations, children activities, etc.
Shahdag Mountain Resort is the first mountain resort ever built in Azerbaijan, and the largest. It is located on the east side of the Caucasus range, near the Shahdag Milli Park, the largest national park in the Caucasus, famous for its majestic mountains and the richness of its flora and fauna.
